Program Extensions and New I-20s
- If you anticipate a change in the length of time required to complete your degree you must contact the Office of International Students and Scholars at least 60 days before the expiration date on your I-20.
- If you do not apply for extension before your I-20/DS-2019 expires, you will be in violation of immigration rules and out of status.
- Program extensions will be granted only for valid academic or medical/health related reasons and student must be making satisfactory progress toward his or her degree.
- Extensions shall not be granted to students who do not make satisfactory academic progress and need additional time to make up GPA deficiencies or course restrictions mandated by poor academic performance or academic probation.
